Monsters Vs Aliens
Conrad Vernon had a fantastic idea for an old retired monster hunter who comes out of retirement to use the very monsters he once captured to help save the world from an alien invasion. I was one of the first on with Craig Kellman and we hit the ground running to imagine a fun world for this insane story to take place within. This portfolio represents the first stabs at world building with a strong story component within each image.

I still feel this is the image that captured the witty humor of Conrad Vernon's vision. It was just silly! Each creature had their own customized prison cell. Each cell needed to help tell the story of the character.

The alien tech, in the early days, were explained as biomech- and the pods were like zits that exploded off the mother ship, sprouted legs and terrorized the world. Acne gone bad!
